Top 10 Burgers In DFW – Hops Nosh Picks

November 20, 2025

I have no idea how many burgers I’ve had since moving to DFW in 2014, but a few always stand out. These are my go-to, the ones I keep coming back to that never seem to disappoint. The list isn’t done. New favorites will get added, and some might drop off over time.

Call it a list, a mission, or just an ongoing excuse for another burger.

Only 4 picked so far. Who’s going to be added? Who’s going to be bumped. We shall see. But for now, here’s who is on my list!

1. Local Pint — The BOJ Burger (Flower Mound, TX)

Since Local Pint opened in 2017, the BOJ Burger has been my go-to, and for good reason. It’s an 8-ounce CAB patty cooked just right (I swear, it’s on point 98% of the time), topped with lettuce, tomato, crème de brie, and a solid layer of bacon onion jam (BOJ) that ties it all together with that sweet-savory hit. It’s rich, juicy, and full of flavor without being over the top.

Whether you’ve been here a bunch or it’s your first visit, this burger never disappoints. The crew always makes you feel welcome, and the rotating beer list is easily one of the best around. If you haven’t had the BOJ yet, start there, you’ll get it after the first bite.

2. Persimmons — BBQ Smash Burger (Grapevine, TX)

Persimmons’ Smashburger has turned into one of my go-tos in Grapevine. I’ve had it plenty of times now, and it’s always spot on — juicy, full of flavor, and built just right with white American cheese, smash sauce, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, all on a toasted potato bun. Add hatch chili for a little kick, and you’ll see why it’s always a toss-up between this and their BBQ Smashburger.

The burger hits every time, the service is always friendly, and even though the beer list could use a little more variety, it’s still one of those places you just keep coming back to.

3. LA Burger — Holy Smokes Burger (Grapevine, TX)

LA Burger’s Holy Smokes in Grapevine is one of those burgers that surprises you in the best way. It’s a juicy smashed patty loaded with smoked bacon, two crispy onion rings, American cheese, and a hit of BBQ sauce that brings everything together. It’s been a minute since I’ve had it, but if I documented it with a photo, it was because it was packed with flavor and just flat-out good.

I do remember the food coming out fast and even with a big group, and everyone left happy. The atmosphere is chill with plenty of seating, making it an easy, no-stress spot when you just want a flavorful burger without the wait.

4. Lakeside Tavern — Tavern Burger (Flower Mound, TX)

The Tavern Cheeseburger at Lakeside is one of those simple-but-craveable classics. Fresh ground sirloin with the works – lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese, and I prefer to throw a fried egg on top because it takes everything up a notch (if you’re an egg-on-burger person, you already know). The patty is juicy with a good sear, the bun has that shiny toasted look you only get from a proper griddle, and the whole thing just stacks together the way a great pub burger should.

The staff is friendly and it’s a great place to catch a game. I prefer a bar seat if I can get one, which can be tough depending on what day and time it is as it does get pretty busy.

That’s my list so far, but if the DFW has taught me anything, it’s that the next great burger is always right around the corner. With six spots open, this journey is just getting started. I’ll keep searching, tasting, and updating as I go — the perfect burger hunt never really ends.
